This wonderful selection of gifts – as featured in The Telegraph’s Plastic Free Gift Guide video – comes with a show-stopper Fairtrade apron with pockets to tuck all those exciting goodies in! There is no minimum order so this would make a perfect present for any child for any occasion as well as bags to give out at parties or events.
Cotton hand-dyed and stitched apron – these stunning and high-quality unisex cotton aprons are Fairtrade and made by women in Sri Lanka. They are handmade from 100% hand-dyed, hand-woven cotton which means they are environmentally friendly as they are biodegradable. They are machine washable and because the colours and patterns are woven in, they stay in. We supply two designs one with a green fish and one with an orange. H57cm (plus neck loop of 40 cm) x W41cm. The ties are approx 50cm each. Modelled by my seven-year-old daughter and Poppy the dog!
Seeds – the packet is made from recycled paper and itself fully recyclable. We source our seeds from a UK supplier, and all the wildflower seeds are of native UK origin. We don’t buy them in from mainland Europe where the mixes are not entirely of British species. We only supply seeds that are of British wildflowers, and therefore suitable for our climate and insects.
Printing block – handmade and Fairtrade, these wooden printing blocks from Jaipur are a perfect size for little hands and creative minds. There are four designs in total, one per bag. We love to make wrapping paper and handmade cards with ours.
Ombar chocolate buttons – to kids these are just amazing chocolate buttons to be eaten as quickly as physically possible! For us grown-ups it’s good to know they are organic, raw and free from refined sugar – they are actually good for our little ones’ tummies and they are delicious. We have tasted quite a few, just to make sure! The packaging is also completely compostable in your food waste. Ombar’s entire supply chain is carefully monitored to ensure everyone from farmers to exporters are compensated fairly.

Twig pencils – We source our unique twig pencils from a dedicated Fairtrade wholesaler. The pencils are crafted from natural tamarind tree branches in Thailand by a small family business. Our supplier has visited the family personally to ensure its eco credentials and its Fairtrade status.
Spinner – made from sustainable beech with our cheerful “Have a great day!” message, these are FSC certified.
Bird whistle – from Java, Indonesia, it’s Fairtrade and handmade from bamboo. Blow gently into the whistle, moving the stick up and down to create a magical birdsong. Take it outside and see which birds you can start a conversation with. Please note some of the whistles come with a small CE sticker on, which is a legal requirement for some toys.
Paper glasses – FREE while stocks last! Made from thick paper, these super fun glasses can be coloured in and enjoyed by the children and when the time comes can be recycled with your paper and card collection. Unlike masks or party hats, there are no elasticated bands or staples – just 100% recyclable paper.
Eco Hero Card – Bright and fun card to keep that comes with a wordsearch game and fun tips to help kids become eco heroes.
Party Bag – Our newspaper bags are made by an NGO whose main objective is to provide education and shelter to street children. This eco-friendly product is made from recycled Indian newspaper. The organisation was started in 2004 by street children who wanted to give something back in return for the opportunities which had allowed them to escape desperate circumstances. These elder children, now with children of their own, generate an income by making newspaper bags and jute items. This allows them to take care of the children that they have taken in from the streets surrounding New Delhi train station. Support for this wonderful project means that these children can enjoy going to school and playing, rather than pulling rickshaws, shoe polishing, rag picking and worse.
The newspapers are either in Indian language or English. They are made from recycled newspapers, this is why sometimes your bag will have a completed crossword!
