Something a little different to the usual animal toys traditionally given to children! Like our mouse and giraffe toys from the same Fairtrade supplier, each one is made with different-coloured fabrics. With your help, and like real armadillos, they can curl into a ball (tucking their tail between their legs) and hide inside their removable concertina-like coat.
Like all our toys, these are gender neutral and encourage natural play and creativity with toys that compliment children and the planet, and contain no materials derived from animals. These little armadillos are made from natural cotton, traditionally hand-woven and hand-stitched by one skilled worker per toy. The stuffing is kapok, a completely biodegradable material, which is washable. Each toy is 20 cm long.
More about how these are made…
There are no factory lines, child labour or sweatshops in our supplier’s facilities, and the highly skilled workers are paid fairly for their incredible talents. The village workshops are close to the homes of the weavers and sewers and nothing is mass-produced, making these little characters really very special. They carry the European Safety Certificate (CE label) too.
Your order will be shipped with a complimentary packet of seeds for the bees, an eco hero card and one of our charity-supporting newspaper bags.
